Located in the heart of downtown Ridgefield at 108 N Main Ave., Ridgefield, WA 98642, The Locksmythe Hair Salon & Barbershop is a locally owned salon built on craftsmanship, education, community, and genuine relationships.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Garrett and Becca Olmstead, The Locksmythe began with a simple idea: create a space where people feel comfortable, cared for, and confident. A place where exceptional hair services are paired with meaningful human connection.
Since opening our doors in 2016, we’ve been fortunate to serve thousands of guests throughout Southwest Washington. What we’re most proud of isn’t the hair we’ve cut or the colors we’ve created. It’s the trust we’ve earned along the way. Many of our clients have become friends. We’ve watched families grow, celebrated milestones together, and had the privilege of being part of people’s lives for nearly a decade.
At The Locksmythe, we believe great hair is personal. Every service begins with listening. Whether you’re looking for a precision haircut, custom color, classic barbering, or a complete transformation, our goal is always the same: to help you look and feel your best while providing an experience that feels welcoming, relaxed, and authentic.
Education has always been at the heart of our approach.
Both Garrett and Becca are Sassoon-trained stylists whose work is heavily influenced by the principles of precision cutting, technical excellence, and timeless design. Throughout their careers, they have remained committed to continuing education and professional growth, bringing the best of modern techniques and classic foundations to every guest who walks through the door.
Garrett’s passion for education has extended beyond the salon as well. From 2018 to 2020, he served as Director of Education for O’Douds Grooming, helping develop educational programs and training opportunities for barbers and stylists nationwide. From 2020 to 2025, he worked as a Cutting Educator for Kevin Murphy, sharing advanced haircutting techniques and helping professionals continue to grow in their craft.
The Locksmythe has also had the opportunity to develop and produce its own line of styling products and participate in educational events throughout the industry. While those projects currently take a back seat to serving our guests and growing our new home in Ridgefield, they remain an important part of our story and a reflection of our commitment to the craft.
Today, as we celebrate 10 years in business and begin an exciting new chapter in downtown Ridgefield, we remain guided by the same values that inspired us from the beginning: exceptional service, continuous learning, meaningful relationships, and genuine gratitude for the people who choose to spend time in our chairs.
